Lake Michigan Salmon At Risk

Chinook salmon populations are decreasing in Lake Michigan and while the fisheries are looking for ways to increase their populations, they are concerned that they cannot get it up fast enough. According to the DNR, the salmon population in Lake Michigan has dropped about 75 percent from its peak in 2012.  This year the fisher took eggs from only 530 Chinook  compared to the 2,780 eggs they took last year.
